Jackson David Henion

We would like to welcome the newest addition to our little family, Jackson David Henion. Jackson was born Tuesday February 2, 2010 at 2:32 pm. Jackson weighed in at 3lbs 7ozs and 16.5" long. We are so thankful for our newest blessing.
I was admitted to the hospital Monday because Jackson's amniotic fluid was below the normal level of 5 cm. They thought I was going to have the baby that day but decided to wait and do a growth ultrasound on Tuesday morning to see how he was growing. The amniotic fluid was actually higher at that ultrasound and his doppler looked great, but Jackson had not grown in the week and a half since his last growth ultrasound. The doctor didn't feel comfortable holding out any longer and the c-section was scheduled for 1:30 on Tuesday.
The c-section went great it took a little longer than Isaac's because of the scar tissue from the first c-section and I also had my tubes tied. Jackson came out kicking an screaming and was checked out immediatly by the neonatal staff. From their check up the decided he could go into the NIMU, which is the neonatal intemediate nursery, he didn't have to go into the NICU!
Ron went with Jackson, he was put under an oxygen hood for breathing and hooked up to an IV for low blood sugar. They also checked his heart where they heard a heart murmer which they said is pretty normal for a baby his size and age. Jackson was taking out of the oxygen hood after an hour and they have not heard the heart murmer since!! He is now only only on the IV for low blood sugar and they are planning on taking that out today at sometime. He is also feeding really well, downing his bottles and they are increasing his food! He is doing so amazing for how little he is, our next challenge is to get that kid gaining weight. He needs to be 4 lbs before he leaves, so they expect to have him hear at least 2 weeks.
I am being discharged tomorrow, so we are going to have to figure out a schedule to come visit Jackson as much as possible. He has the best care here but of course it doesn't feel the same when we are not taking care of him ourselves. So please pray for his continued success and growth, we would love to have him home as soon as possible. Also, thank you for all your prayers we know Jackson would not be doing as good as he is without God and the power of prayer.
