4lbs 13oz
Jackson is home and growing like a weed :) We went to the doctor and he is up to 4lbs 13oz, he has gained almost a lb in the week since he has come home. Things are starting to settle down at our house, I have spent my first week at home with my boys and things are going great. I am starting to get a schedule figured out and I am enjoying every minute of it :) Isaac loves his baby brother, he is trying to touch him and help me out all day long. I can't wait till Jackson gets a little bigger to play with his big brother, it is going to be so much fun to watch them play! Also, Isaac has been taking some steps, it is so much fun watching him start to walk. Boys are going to be so much fun:)

6 days old...
Jackson is 6 days old and doing amazing! This guy is such a fighter for his little size. He has made amazing progress in the last 6 days and we are so excited. He is now off of all IV's and feeding really well. He is up to 28 ml of milk at each feeding and the doctor is increasing his feeds every day. His weight has started to increase, his weight went down 5% in the first 5 days which was expected and as of yesterday it went up 2%. The doctor is going to try and get him out of the warmer in the next couple of days and see if he can maintain his temp on his own. Also, as long as he takes his feedings by bottle or nursing for 12 to 24 hours they will take out his feeding tube, which would be amazing. Jackson hates his feeding tube, he is quite handsy and tries to pull it out all the time :) He has a little jaundice as well so he is under the billy lights right now, but should be out of that in a couple days as well. His color already looks better today. We expect him to be home next week sometime if he continues on the track he is on, we are so excited and can't wait to have our family all together at home. It is funny to see Isaac with Jackson, he has no idea what is going on. He will touch his head and turn away totally disinterested :) I can't wait to see my boys play together. Please continue to pray he grows quickly and stays healthy.

Jackson David Henion
We would like to welcome the newest addition to our little family, Jackson David Henion. Jackson was born Tuesday February 2, 2010 at 2:32 pm. Jackson weighed in at 3lbs 7ozs and 16.5" long. We are so thankful for our newest blessing.
I was admitted to the hospital Monday because Jackson's amniotic fluid was below the normal level of 5 cm. They thought I was going to have the baby that day but decided to wait and do a growth ultrasound on Tuesday morning to see how he was growing. The amniotic fluid was actually higher at that ultrasound and his doppler looked great, but Jackson had not grown in the week and a half since his last growth ultrasound. The doctor didn't feel comfortable holding out any longer and the c-section was scheduled for 1:30 on Tuesday.
The c-section went great it took a little longer than Isaac's because of the scar tissue from the first c-section and I also had my tubes tied. Jackson came out kicking an screaming and was checked out immediatly by the neonatal staff. From their check up the decided he could go into the NIMU, which is the neonatal intemediate nursery, he didn't have to go into the NICU!
Ron went with Jackson, he was put under an oxygen hood for breathing and hooked up to an IV for low blood sugar. They also checked his heart where they heard a heart murmer which they said is pretty normal for a baby his size and age. Jackson was taking out of the oxygen hood after an hour and they have not heard the heart murmer since!! He is now only only on the IV for low blood sugar and they are planning on taking that out today at sometime. He is also feeding really well, downing his bottles and they are increasing his food! He is doing so amazing for how little he is, our next challenge is to get that kid gaining weight. He needs to be 4 lbs before he leaves, so they expect to have him hear at least 2 weeks.
I am being discharged tomorrow, so we are going to have to figure out a schedule to come visit Jackson as much as possible. He has the best care here but of course it doesn't feel the same when we are not taking care of him ourselves. So please pray for his continued success and growth, we would love to have him home as soon as possible. Also, thank you for all your prayers we know Jackson would not be doing as good as he is without God and the power of prayer.
